Executive Summary "Reaching Hands as Each One Teaches One," hereafter referred to RHEOTO, is a project that focuses on mentoring and teaching teens and young adults that turning to drugs, sex, alcohol, gangs, or violence to handle their problems, should not be an option.
We will provide a one-stop-shop for struggling teens and young adults, using positive reinforcement, training, and mentoring to open doors of greater possibilities in their lives.
We believe that a positive atmosphere for disenfranchised youth can help these young adults look at their problems from another point of view. Some of our desired programs are:
Choices: Use classes to teach teens and young adults that they have better options with which to make better choices.
Skills: The Computer Lab is where we teach young people computer skills to help them not only in school, but also in preparation for the job market. These skills are Microsoft Office Suite, Web Design, and MS Project, etc.
Fine Arts and Musical Enrichment: Arts in drama, music, dance, song writing, Audio/Video recording, and duplicating skills.
Child Development Center: Here we will have low-cost child care and a sliding scale for fees based upon income.
School First: This program is designed to help students struggling in school subjects and people skills.
Family Awareness: This program is designed to help teach new mothers and fathers the necessary skills to assist them in parenting their child(ren).
Fitness and Nutrition: By teaching proper nutrition and exercise in our state-of-the-art fitness center, participants learn to care for and take responsibility for their health.
The measurement of RHEOTO's success is those that have successfully completed any of the areas of our program should be able to teach someone else though the power or duplication.
